This is beautiful. I absolutely love the colors. This is such a great interpretation of such a well known character. I love your work. All of your characters are so unique. There are so many beautiful features to this piece. I can recognize them and then they come together to form something totally different from the parts. Lovely.
my mentor/teacher/peer/life coach Steve Locke told me that art only really happens when the viewer questions it. That fine art is the ability to make the viewer marvel and be confused about the craft, technique, medium, composition, content, etc. He often states that illustration just takes all the questions away--they're technically the same thing.
And so I try my best to make the viewer puzzle over what I'm making/doing/using
That's a great approach to art. I was in illustration for a year and i just couldn't do it. Going into fine art helped me release all i couldn't before. Now i look at art as a medium that fills in the missing blanks of my life.
fried egg beards? thats awesome! naw man, its not eggs. but theres a girl at massart who paints large, large, large realistic portraits with eggs flying everywhere--fried, scrambled, whatever. its pretty awesome
